Hello and welcome to the first of our series of Christmas Card Recipe posts! Over the next couple of months, we’ll be bringing you heaps of ideas about creating Christmas Cards using our two brand-new Christmas MiniStacks plus our Trees and Leaves stack. These cards will be super-economical. Rough costs will be provided and you’ll already have many of the items in your stash.
Each time we will have a recipe, complete with a list of ingredients, costs and instructions on how to make them. Are you ready? Here we go!
Christmas Card Recipe #1
Ingredients:
- ArtStacks Christmas Quotes MiniStack printed on cardstock
- Card blanks – I used one white and one kraft
- Scrap paper in two contrasting colours – I used red and gold
- Ribbons to match
- Ink pad
- Adhesive
Costs:
- Christmas Quotes MiniStack – $3 for the printed version (around $2.20 USD) or $2 for the digital version (around $1.50 USD) and you can print this as many times as you like.
- Card blanks – These range in price but are often around 50 cents to $1 each. Making your own from cardstock is even more economical.
- Realistically, you’re probably going to have everything else in your stash.
Method;
- Choose your quote from the Christmas Quotes MiniStack and cut it out.
- Cut one of the scrap papers slightly larger than the quote then cut the second paper to form a large frame around the first.
- Ink the edges of the quote and papers. Try black, gold or silver ink.
- Use a piece of cardboard or mounting tape to mount the quote to the backing paper. Attach that to the larger paper panel.
- Add a strip of ribbon roughly one-third of the way down the card front then layer the other papers over the top.
- Add a bow to the bottom.
- Scatter punched stars around the card and you’re done!
The stack I used in this is the Christmas Quotes MiniStack printed on cardstock:
