“Be Gentle” by Claire Stead
Claire Stead is popping in between the seasonal events in our calendars to inspire you with an art journal page that’s in a very different style to her usual one. We love how artists expand their creativity when they try different things!
The base for Claire’s page is one of the stunning colourful pages from Tracy Verdugo’s “Under the Sea” pack. She outlined her letters then added gesso, leaving the letters and edges of the pages free to show the pops of colour from the background paper.
She then added images by the fabulous Tamara Laporte (known as ‘willowing’ online). These are printed on tissue. Claire simply added them over the top, allowing the colours of the page show through. What a great effect!
