Be Kind By Leanne Jago

Oh my goodness. How exciting is this! A brand new Australian company producing such gorgeous pieces for us to play with.

I received this yumminess in the mail and was so excited…. So, lets get straight into this….

I broke out the hand picture from the Anemones and Friends CoreStack collection as it screamed at me and of course I knew I had to start with my favourite technique… Image Transfer. I grabbed a quote from the Inspirational Words Ministack too. I couldn’t find a large enough piece of cardstock or watercolour paper so I found a piece of cardboard that came with a quilt cover and went with that.

Here is a little look at the image transfer waiting and ready to add more.. well, stuff. Next I layered up some gesso, Artline Facetten-lack crackle, Lindy’s Magical Shakers and Tim Holtz Oxide Inks, which turned out like this …

Next, I cut out the hands and used some matt medium to adhere them to the background. They looked too stark against my background so I used the same colours of oxide inks and coloured the hands with those. How easy is that!

But I really wanted the hands to pop and to get some dimension happening, so I outlined them with Stabilo All black, activated it with water then used a fuseball pen to draw over the lines of the hands and flowers. I wanted to make it scribbly.

Things were starting to come together. I was starting to really feel this. But what the heck was I going to do with bottom part. You can’t have two hands just floating in mid air. So I had to do my thing and add a stack of bits…

The stack is a mix of pianola roll, some of the Pink Anemones and Tissue Flowers, some calico and some resin paper all stitched together. Lastly I added the Insirational Words quote and some splatters to finish off. So here it is…

And some close ups..

The Hands Holding a Flower, Pink Anemones and Tissue Flowers are all from the Anemones & Friends Stack.

The Quote is from the Inspirational Words MiniStack.

There you have it. My first creation for ArtStacks.

It was so much fun.

Until we meet again.

Live with Respect.
