Love It by Sharon Fritchman

Hi everyone!  It’s Sharon here today sharing a mixed media art journal page that I made using Deb Weiers’ newest releases.  I absolutely love her funky style and was so excited to create a page with her Wonky Critters and Wonky Bits packs!

I started by picking my background paper that I had in my stash.  Next, I added some stamping and machine stitching. I decided to utilize a “circle” theme to go with the lyrics that I used from a favorite Joni Mitchell song, entitled “Circle Game.”  I chose Deb Weiers’ quirky pony image (from the Wonky Critters pack) to be the focal point for my page because the song is about a carousel with ponies!  After picking my focal point, I added some of Deb’s wonky circles(to go with the circle theme) and my title “Love It” from her Wonky Bits pack. What makes these circles so fun to use,  is that they are printed on self-adhesive paper! I thought that the black and white striped paper (from Deb Weiers’ Wonky Backgrounds pack) went perfectly here. (It’s printed on easy-tear paper.) I also added one of the flowers from the Wonky Bits pack to give my page some balance.  And finally, I adhered the Joni Mitchell lyrics to complete my page.
