“Try to be a Rainbow” by Sharon Fritchman

Hi everyone!  It’s Sharon and I’m here today sharing a mixed media art journal project that I made using three different CoreStacks.  As I have said before but cannot say enough,  I love how all of these stacks go together beautifully!  As you know, we have new releases by Lisa Oxley and I think they are absolutely amazing!  I could not wait to get started using both of her new stacks:   Lisa Oxley Bright & Bold and  Lisa Oxley Floral Fetish.  I also sprinkled in some butterflies from the Anemones & Friends CoreStack.

I chose my art journal with watercolor pages, then painted both pages with Gesso.  After they dried, I created my background with watercolors and stamping. Next, I adhered the green and blue rainbow strips from the Floral Fetish stack to my page to create a scene with grass and sky.  I fussy cut and adhered the flowers and rainbow from this same stack. I also die cut the clouds from a page in the Bright & Bold stack and placed them on on my page. I machine stitched the clouds and rainbow to my page with white thread.(It’s subtle!)  Next, I adhered the butterflies from the Anemones & Friends stack because I just couldn’t resist using these beauties!

And finally, I finished by adding a sun, some more stamping, and my own quote.  And that’s it!  Easy peasy!!!  And what fun it was to use Lisa’s new stacks.

Here are direct links to the stacks I used:
