Paula is the first one of our design team members who gets to create with our new releases, Deb Weiers’ Wonky Critters and Wonky Bits Artist Series packs! YAY! Paula tells us how she made her beautiful art journal page in her own words as follows:
Hello, hello! Have you seen the new and absolutely fabulous Artist Series packs from Deb Weiers? I’m a huge fan of her art and absolutely adore her newest releases…the Wonky Bits and Wonky Critters stacks.
My art journal page is entitled “Tweet” and is made with a combination of both of Deb Weiers’ new releases.
And I just had to let you know that I ripped open the packs as soon I had them in my hot little hands so that I could start creating with them right away! (Ha-Ha!)
I was immediately drawn to the dark blue wonky blue bird. Once I chose it as my focal point, everything just flowed from there.
I started by adhering a piece of burlap to one of the pages in my art journal and adding some black stamping. Then I used a pre-stenciled tag as a “platform” for my wonky bird (from the Wonky Critters pack) because I didn’t want the bird to get lost on my page. Next, I tore a strip from the ‘tweet’ words page, (from the same pack) and inked it with blue distress oxide ink. I added a piece of this to my tag and the leftover piece to the end of my page. In addition, I loved this yellow flower (from the Wonky Bits pack) and added it behind the bird on my tag. Finally, I adhered the yellow “boulders” (from the Wonky Bits pack) at the bottom of my tag to balance the yellow on my page. They are printed on self adhesive paper and are so fun to work with!
I used the following stacks:
