Vanity Fair by Chaitali Dekhtawala

Hi crafty friends! It’s Chaitali here today sharing my latest project, “Vanity Fair” – an altered wooden drawer set. I based my project around the fabulous Limited Edition stack, The Dressmaker, along with some ArtStacks transparent windows, which are my all-time favorite, plus a few of their lovely blue butterflies.

I started with the wooden drawers and lined them with the gorgeous canvas roses paper from The Homemaker stack.

I then added all my elements. The focus of the piece is the gorgeous retro lady from The Dressmaker stack.

Behind her hang the dresses from the paper dolls that are in the same stack.

I made some ruffles. These are also from The Dressmaker stack and are so easy to make!

I filled the drawers with little accessories which all girls love. I even added some of the ruffles in here.

The butterflies are from the Anemonies & Friends stack.

And the transparent window is from the Doors & Windows stack.

I love the concept of having pretty things to dress up in. There are a couple of quotes that I had in mind while I was making this: “Always dress like it’s the best day of your life” and “Playing dress-up begins at age 5 and never truly ends”.

My project is based on The Dressmaker stack.

I hope I’ve inspired you to make something beautiful with these papers!
